A presentation on the invention of the vacuum tube in 1907, how it operates, and its use to generate extremely high voltages in a Tesla Coil. A brief demo of the traditional spark gap type Tesla Coil (3 foot arcs) will occur and then a longer demo routine with the vacuum tube Tesla Coil.
