Tesla Coil Demonstrations

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Visit the Power Station laboratory to see Dr. Professor Anderson describe and demonstrate 19th-century Exceptionally High Voltage apparatus. These will include the spark gap and the vacuum tube Tesla Coils with arc lengths up to 3 feet (500,000volts), Van de Graaff generator (750,000 volts, 2 foot sparks), Wimshurst machine (90,000 volts), Induction Coil (120 ,000 volts) and a 4 foot tall Jacob’s Ladder. His large 1 Million Volt Tesla Coil with 7 foot long arcs will be on display, but not operated because it tends to suck dry the hotel electrical power system, and it does not play well with other electronic devices. In an abundance of caution, people with implanted medical electronics should not attend these demos due to the strong electric and magnetic fields generated by these apparatus.
